FISIP Udayana University Celebrates 16th Anniversary and BK: A Momentum to Keep Growing, Innovating, and Making Real Contributions to Society, Nation, and State

Denpasar – The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) of Udayana University (Unud) celebrated its 16th Anniversary and Family Body (BK) event at the FISIP campus area on Sudirman Street, Denpasar, Saturday (June 28, 2025).

The anniversary and BK celebration served as both a moment for reflection and an expression of the spirit of togetherness, collaboration, and creativity among the academic community of FISIP Unud. The celebration was marked by the cutting of a traditional cone-shaped rice (tumpeng) and birthday cake. Present at the event were Unud Rector Prof. I Made Bakta, the Founding Father of FISIP Unud, Vice Rectors, Faculty and Graduate School leaders, institutional leaders, other guests, and the FISIP academic community.

The committee chair, Komang Adi Sastrawijaya, reported that under the theme "Harmony in Unity through a Symphony of Collaboration," a series of activities had been underway for several days. He proudly shared that on June 26, 2025, a Fun Walk event for the entire FISIP academic community was successfully held, involving lecturers, staff, and students. The event was enlivened with blood donation drives, exercise sessions, and competitions among FISIP members, fostering enthusiasm, camaraderie, and promoting health and togetherness.

FISIP Dean Dr. I Nengah Punia, in his speech, conveyed that the faculty faces bigger challenges moving forward to continue innovating and adapting to current times. However, FISIP has a responsibility to produce graduates who are excellent, independent, culturally grounded, globally competitive, and who positively contribute to society, the nation, and the state. Therefore, he invited all FISIP academic members to commit to improving education quality and strengthening brotherhood among all components of Udayana’s FISIP.

“We hope and pray that FISIP will always be a platform for developing human resources that are inspiring, innovative, and progressive in producing high-quality and moral future generations of the nation. Let us use this 16th Anniversary as a momentum to advance our beloved FISIP,” he said.

Meanwhile, Unud Rector Prof. I Ketut Sudarsana said in his remarks that the age of 16 marks adolescence, and in this period, FISIP Unud has undergone many dynamics, pursued academic journeys, formed intellectual traditions, and made real contributions to society. But like any adolescent preparing to enter adulthood, it is known that future challenges will be more complex and require stronger enthusiasm, smart work, and integrity.

The challenges ahead are significant, given the current higher education dynamics, where demands and competition increase, as well as the need for collaboration. Therefore, several tasks must be addressed, one of which is accreditation as a reflection of how society recognizes our graduates.

“Let us innovate, demonstrate our excellence, and uniqueness in improving our accreditation status,” urged the Rector.

On this occasion, the Rector also expressed that as university leadership, he always encourages and supports all faculties and academic communities to synergize in building the institution they love, Udayana University.

During the event, the Integrity Pact of the WBK ZI (Corruption-Free Area) was also signed.
