Udayana University Takes Firm Action Against Students Who Perpetrate Sexual Violence
Denpasar, April 29, 2025 — Udayana University (Unud) has shown a firm stance against all forms of violence in the academic environment. The Rector of Udayana University has officially imposed a permanent dismissal sanction on a student for serious violations in the form of sexual violence, as stated in the Decree of the Rector of Udayana University Number 605/UN14/HK/2025 concerning Administrative Sanctions for Students Who Perpetrate Sexual Violence in the Udayana University Environment.
This sanction was imposed after going through an in-depth investigation process by the Faculty's ethics team and the Sexual Violence Prevention and Handling Task Force (Satgas PPKS). The perpetrator was proven to have committed acts of sexual violence in the form of taking, recording, and/or distributing photos and visual recordings of the victim with sexual nuances without consent, as regulated in Article 12 paragraph (2) letter f of the Regulation of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology Number 55 of 2024.
The Rector of Udayana University stated that this dismissal sanction is a firm step that must be taken in order to maintain the integrity and dignity of the institution. The perpetrator's actions do not reflect the character of an excellent, independent and cultured academic, as stated in the vision and mission of Udayana University. "We will not tolerate any form of serious violation that damages the image and reputation of the university," the Rector emphasized.
