ENTERING THE EARLY EDUCATION, 4,758 NEW STUDENTS ARE GIVEN FREEZING THROUGH PKKMB

Jimbaran - Monday (08/13/2018) Udayana University held a New Student Campus Life Recognition (PKKMB) activity at the Widya Sabha Auditorium Building, Bukit Jimbaran Campus. The theme carried this year is "Preparing the Young Generation for the Globalization of Education in the 4.0 Industrial Revolution". This time PKKMB was attended by 4,758 new students who were divided into 48 clusters. The PKKMB program was opened directly by the Rector of Udayana University, Prof. A.A Raka Sudewi, Sp. S (K) by presenting speakers from Udayana University and two guest speakers from Kemenpora and Kemenhan.

Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, Prof. Dr. Ir. I Nyoman Gede Antara, M.Eng as the Chief Executive of PKKMB said that this year's PKKMB was attended by new students who passed the selection through SNMPTN, SBMPTN, Independent Pathways, 3T Affirmative / Admitted Student Pathways, Foreign Student Pathways and previous students who did not participate or have not passed PKKMB. The purpose of organizing this activity is as a university effort so that new students can more easily adapt to the learning process and academic life at Udayana University. This PKKMB must be followed by students because the graduation certificate is one of the prerequisites for attending Graduation. PKKMB graduation criteria uses five parameters, namely attendance at each session, seriousness in following each activity session, discipline in utilizing time, perseverance in listening to the material and obedience to the rules.

The material provided in the PKKMB includes State Defense Awareness Guidance, Nation Life and Menpora Excellent Program delivered by the Deputy for Youth Development of the Ministry of Youth and Sport Republic of Indonesia, Dr. HM. Asroru Ni'am Sholeh, MA and related material on Awareness of Nation and Country Life and Prevention of Radicalism delivered by PPTP Officials of the Bali Provincial Ministry of Defense, Colonel / INF Ketut Budiastawa, S.Sos., M.Sc.

Besides the material from the guest speakers the participants were also given material on (1) Higher Education in Indonesia and Academic Activities at Udayana University delivered by the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs; (2) material related to Cultural Values, Manners and Scientific Ethics by the Vice Chancellor for General and Financial Affairs; (3) material related to Organizations, Student Activities and Community Empowerment by the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs and USCC Chairperson; (4) material related to Institutional Cooperation as a Media for Strengthening Graduates' Competence in Facing the Udayana University Global Work Market by the Vice Chancellor for Planning, Cooperation and Information; (5) material related to Information System Services (IMISSU) by the Chair of the USDI and (6) material related to Student KKN by the Chairperson of the Unud LP2M.

Chancellor of Unud, Prof. Dr. dr. A A. Raka Sudewi, Sp. S (K) hopes that through this activity new students will gain an understanding of higher education so that they are better prepared to enter campus life, considering this is very influential for students in taking their studies and following the learning process. The Chancellor also hopes this activity can help new students prepare themselves in facing the globalization of education in the industrial revolution 4.0. (HM)
