IMPORT BALI CLOTHES, STUDENTS UNUD STUDENTS DIFFERENT IN DAY 'INTERNATONAL STUDENT DAY'

Jimbaran - Center for International Programs (CIP) Udayana University held International Student Day with Theme "Indonesia's Textile Heritage", Wednesday (25/04/2018) at CIP Building Page of Kampus Bukit Jimbaran. The event is filled with exhibitions of textile products from Indonesia such as Batik and Endek Bali cloth, as well as cultural performances presented by foreign students from various Study Programs.

The Director of CIP Unud, Ni Putu Sri Harta Mimba, conveyed this activity to be a place for the creativity of international students as well as to strengthen friendship as they come from various countries and bring closer friendship with Indonesian students. Through the topic, it is expected to give an idea for foreign students about the uniqueness of Indonesian culture. This activity will also be routinely held every semester considering there are two sessions namely Summer Session and Winter Session. In this activity the students are invited to wear Balinese traditional clothes, and the participating students come from around 20 countries and most of them are from Germany. CIP Director hopes that in the future more international students will be interested in Balinese culture, and are interested to study at Udayana University.

Rector of Unud, Prof. Dr. dr. A A. Raka Sudewi, Sp.S (K) hopes that through this activity, foreign students will get to know each other and mingle with local Unud students. It is also expected that the activities carried out by CIP are very good in order to introduce the traditions and culture of Indonesia, especially the Balinese culture through the products displayed. In the future, besides Short Course, there will also be cooperation related to Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi with Government and educational institution in student's country of origin. (HM)
