Udayana University Holds Workshop on 2026 Independent Admission and Strengthening of Academic Regulations

Jimbaran – Udayana University (Unud) held a Workshop on the 2026 Independent Admission (PMB) and Strengthening of Academic Regulations on November 11, 2025, at the Theater Room, Lecture Building, Jimbaran Campus. The event, themed “Building Credible Academic Governance and a Transparent Independent Admission Mechanism to Strengthen Udayana University’s Foundation as a Legal Entity State University (PTN BH)”, was attended by university, faculty, and institutional leaders, and featured Dr. Achmad Solihin, S.E., M.Si., Head of the New Student Admission Center of Universitas Airlangga, as the keynote speaker.

The event was officially opened by the Rector of Udayana University, Prof. Ir. I Ketut Sudarsana, S.T., Ph.D., who in his remarks emphasized the strategic importance of this workshop in supporting Unud’s transformation process toward becoming a Legal Entity State University (PTN BH).

“The PTN BH status is not merely a change in name, but a mandate to establish autonomous, transparent, and accountable governance, particularly in the academic domain,” said the Rector.

He further highlighted two main agendas of the workshop: the formulation of the 2026 Independent Admission mechanism and the strengthening of academic regulations. The Rector underscored that the independent admission process must be conducted with the principles of fairness, transparency, and accountability to attract outstanding prospective students who can enhance the reputation and academic quality of Udayana University. Moreover, strengthening academic regulations is expected to produce adaptive, efficient, and high-quality internal policies that support the implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education (Education, Research, and Community Service).

Previously, the Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, Prof. I Nengah Sujaya, as Chair of the Committee, reported that the workshop aimed to gather input from various stakeholders to finalize and synchronize the technical mechanisms of the 2026 Independent Admission and strengthen internal academic regulations.

“Two fundamental aspects we must prepare are a transparent and accountable Independent Admission mechanism, and strong academic regulations to ensure efficient university governance that meets national and international quality standards,” he stated.

In his remarks, the Committee Chair also expressed his appreciation to all members of the Working Groups (Pokja) and Review Teams who had worked diligently from early October to early November 2025 in drafting and refining the proposed academic regulations. He also extended his gratitude for the full support of the Rector and the collaboration of all parties who contributed to the success of this event.

The workshop involved university and faculty leaders, bureau heads, as well as the technical and PMB organizing teams. The agenda focused on presentations and discussions with the keynote speaker and the heads of the working groups responsible for preparing various academic documents. The event will continue the following day with a socialization session of the workshop results and a follow-up discussion involving study program leaders, academic staff, and students.

This workshop is expected to serve as a concrete step by Udayana University in strengthening its institutional foundation toward achieving PTN BH status with excellence, autonomy, cultural identity, and global competitiveness. Through synergy and collective commitment, the outcomes of this workshop are expected to become a strong foundation for establishing credible and integrity-based academic governance within Udayana University.
