Udayana University Holds Socialization on Learning Development and Character Education for PIP Higher Education Scholarship Recipients, Featuring Member of the Indonesian House of Representatives I Nyoman Parta as Speaker
Jimbaran – Udayana University, through the Student Affairs Bureau, organized a Socialization on Learning Development and Character Education for PIP Higher Education Scholarship Recipients (KIP Kuliah and Afirmasi) at the Widya Sabha Auditorium, Jimbaran Campus, on Tuesday (November 4, 2025). The event was opened by the Rector of Udayana University, Prof. Ir. I Ketut Sudarsana, S.T., Ph.D., and featured Member of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) for the Bali constituency, I Nyoman Parta, as the main speaker. The event was also attended by the Vice Rector for Student Affairs and staff, as well as scholarship recipient students.
In her report, Committee Chair Ni Ketut Desi Anggraeni Sulistyawati, S.E., M.M. explained that the activity serves as a form of guidance and mentoring for students receiving the PIP Higher Education Scholarship, consisting of the KIP Kuliah and Afirmasi Pendidikan Tinggi (ADik) programs. The purpose of this event is to enhance students’ understanding of their rights and responsibilities as scholarship recipients, strengthen character and integrity, and foster motivation for achievement and social responsibility as future academic leaders of the nation.
This year’s participants came from various new student admission tracks: 268 students from the SNBP track, 254 from SNBT, 128 from the Community Recommendation track, and 28 from the PPAPT Additional Quota, bringing the total to 678 KIP Kuliah scholarship recipients. In addition, 27 ADik scholarship recipients from various regions across Indonesia who are pursuing their studies at Udayana University also took part in this event.
The activity not only focused on academic development but also emphasized character building, discipline, ethics, and responsibility. Through learning sessions, discussions, and motivational talks, scholarship recipients are expected to understand that a scholarship is not merely financial assistance, but a form of trust from the nation that must be honored through achievement, good conduct, and meaningful contributions to society. The event also aimed to strengthen solidarity among scholarship recipients from diverse backgrounds and provide a platform for sharing experiences, inspiration, and motivation in achieving their goals.
In his remarks, Rector of Udayana University Prof. I Ketut Sudarsana stated that this socialization is one of the university’s strategies to enhance public transparency regarding scholarship management and student mentoring systems for KIP Kuliah and Afirmasi recipients. He emphasized that students should cultivate a strong sense of responsibility to improve the quality of education, both through academic and non-academic achievements.
“This scholarship is provided by the government to the nation’s best young generation with the hope that they will build a bright and successful future. It is recorded that in 2025 alone, Udayana University has 678 KIP Kuliah scholarship recipients, reflecting the government’s serious commitment to ensuring access to higher education for all levels of society. As the oldest and largest university in Bali, Udayana University is ready to stand at the forefront in supporting the successful implementation of this program by providing the best educational services for the nation’s youth,” he said.
“We hope today’s event will bring meaningful benefits for the advancement of our young generation, especially those currently pursuing their studies at Udayana University,” added the Rector.
During the event, Member of the Indonesian House of Representatives I Nyoman Parta and Rector of Udayana University Prof. I Ketut Sudarsana symbolically handed over KIP Kuliah scholarships to the recipients.
In addition to the symbolic handover, I Nyoman Parta also reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring that the KIP program remains protected from budget efficiency cuts, in order to safeguard the future of Indonesia’s intelligent and competitive young generation.
