Veterinary Teaching Hospitas Faculty Of Veterinary Medicine Udayana University As A Dog Health Team In Bali Dog Show 2022

 

In the current pandemic situation, veterinarians must be able to handle and adapt their roles to support public health, animal health, and protect the environment. Veterinarians need to be resilient and better equipped to handle the day-to-day challenges and crises that may occur in their practice.

 

 

Celebrating World Veterinary Day 2022, which will be commemorated in 2022 on April 30, 2022, the Udayana Veterinary Teaching Hospital (VTH) celebrates by carrying out services in the form of dog health checks at the Bali Dog Show 2022 in commemoration of the Regency's birthday. 251st Gianyar. In this service, community education is also carried out about the importance of maintaining quality and responsible dogs. The service event with the theme “The contribution of veterinarians to the health of animals, humans and the environment will be held for two days, 23 and 24 April 2022, at the Gianyar Dog Show arena, Gor Kebo Iwa Gianyar Bali. This service is attended by Faculty of Veterinary Medicine’s (FVM) lecturers and students starting from 08.00 to 18.00

This service is in line with the purpose of holding the Gianyar Dog Show, namely educating the public on how to raise responsible and quality dogs. This is important considering that Bali is still experiencing an outbreak of rabies as well as in Gianyar district. With this event, which is the first time it has been held during COVID-19, RSHP hopes that the dog lover community who participates in this exhibition will maintain the health of their pets so that they do not transmit dangerous diseases to humans.

 

 

In the activity which was opened directly by the Regent of Gianyar, Mr. I Made Agus Mahayastra, SSTP, M.Par also emphasized the danger of rabies to humans. Therefore, the regent of Gianyar hopes that the RSHP, which has assisted in carrying out this activity, especially in the field of animal health, will educate the dog-keeping community to keep their dogs both in exhibitions and at home so as not to transmit diseases to humans.

 

 

The Director of the Udayana Veterinary Teaching Hospital, Prof. Puja said that this service activity was to strengthen veterinary resilience and pay attention to animal health, public health and the environment. wholeheartedly and professionally. It was further stated that in this service activity, participants who took part in this exhibition consulted more about deadly dog diseases and dog growth and development.
