Implementation of the RKUHP Dialogue in cooperation with the Ministry of Law and Human Rights of the Republic of Indonesia and the Faculty of Law UNUD

 

A dialogue on the Draft Criminal Code (RKUHP) was held in collaboration between the Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Kemenkumham) of the Republic of Indonesia National Law Development Agency and the Faculty of Law Unud on Tuesday, 27 September 2022 at the Hall FH Unud Denpasar Campus. The dialogue material entitled Development of Draft Laws (RUU) of the Criminal Code (KUHP) was presented by I Kadek Yuliana, SH, MH (Designer of Legislations for Young Experts) from the Kemenkumham Bali Regional Office. The resource person conveyed that there were 14 crucial issues related to the Draft Criminal Code, namely: Living Law, Death Penalty, Humiliation of the President, Criminal acts claiming to have supernatural powers to harm people, Elimination of Articles concerning Doctors/Dentists who carry out work without a permit, Allowing poultry to destroy gardens/ land that has been sown with seeds, Criminal acts of disturbance and misdirection of the judicial process, Elimination of criminal acts of fraudulent advocates, Blasphemy of Religion, Persecution of animals, Criminal acts of showing contraceptives to children, Abduction as a criminal act, Abortion, Adultery; Cohabitation; Rape in marriage. The 14 crucial issues were responded to by the participants (Vice Dean I, Head of Lab/Criminal Law Division, Coordinator of the Information and Cooperation Management Unit, Lab Lecturer/Criminal Law Division, students of S1 Law, Masters in MIH, Masters in MKN and S3 DIH FH Unud) so that interactive discussions occur and provide suggestions and input on the Draft Criminal Code.
