Late 2025, Unud Rector Inaugurates Four Faculty Deans

Denpasar – Universitas Udayana (Unud) held an Inauguration and Handover Ceremony for Officials within Universitas Udayana on Wednesday at the Nusantara Hall of the Agrocomplex Building, Sudirman Campus, Denpasar, Wednesday (24/12/2025). The ceremony was conducted solemnly and led directly by the Rector of Universitas Udayana, Prof. Ir. I Ketut Sudarsana, S.T., Ph.D.

The inauguration was a follow-up to the Rector’s Decree of Universitas Udayana concerning the dismissal and appointment of structural officials, including Deans and Vice Deans of several faculties as well as the Head of the Language Technical Implementation Unit (UPT Bahasa) of Universitas Udayana. The officials inaugurated and appointed based on the Rector’s Decree were as follows:
Dr. drh. I Gusti Ngurah Sudisma, M.Si. as Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Universitas Udayana;
Dr. I Wayan Rai Widarta, S.TP., M.Si. as Dean of the Faculty of Agricultural Technology, Universitas Udayana;
Dr. I Wayan Suardana, S.ST.Par., M.Par. as Dean of the Faculty of Tourism, Universitas Udayana;
Prof. Dr. Ir. I Wayan Nuarsa, M.Si. as Dean of the Faculty of Marine and Fisheries, Universitas Udayana;
Dr. I Nyoman Tri Ediwan, S.S., M.Hum. as Head of the Language Technical Implementation Unit (UPT Bahasa), Universitas Udayana.

In addition to the inauguration of new officials, the occasion also marked the handover of duties from previous officials as a form of leadership continuity and organizational governance within Universitas Udayana.

In his address, the Rector of Universitas Udayana emphasized that the inauguration of officials is not merely an administrative ceremony, but an important momentum to reaffirm trust, integrity, and responsibility in academic leadership.

The Rector stated that the appointed officials are among the best individuals entrusted to lead strategic units of the university during a phase of institutional transformation and strengthened governance.

The Rector also highlighted three leadership principles that must be firmly upheld by the officials, namely integrity-based leadership, collaborative leadership, and adaptive and impactful leadership. These principles are expected to drive improvements in the quality of the tridharma of higher education, strengthen research and innovation culture, enhance the relevance of graduates, and promote transparent, service-oriented governance.

Specifically for the Language UPT, the Rector expressed hope that the unit would play an increasingly strategic role in supporting the internationalization of the university, improving the language competencies of the academic community, and strengthening Universitas Udayana’s global reputation.

On the same occasion, the Rector of Universitas Udayana expressed his appreciation and gratitude to the outgoing officials for their dedication and service to the advancement of Universitas Udayana. The Rector invited the entire academic community to continue fostering collaboration, integrity, and a spirit of togetherness in advancing the alma mater.

The inauguration and handover ceremony was attended by the Chair of the Senate, Vice Rectors, leaders of Faculties/Graduate School and Institutions, Heads of Bureaus, Heads of UPTs, and other invited guests. The event proceeded in an orderly and smooth manner as part of Universitas Udayana’s commitment to strengthening institutional governance and leadership.
