Field Visit for Tourism Supporting Creative Industries Course in Agroindustrial Technology Study Program, FTP Unud at Sababay Winery

The Agroindustrial Technology Study Program, Faculty of Agricultural Technology, Udayana University held a Field Lecture for Tourism Supporting Creative Industries Course on Saturday, 21st May 2022. This activity was held at Sababay Winery.

 

Sababay Winery is a local Balinese company located in Gianyar Regency that produces wine. Uniquely, the wine production at Sababay collaborates with local wine farmers, winemakers, wine experts, and distributors to create local Balinese products with international standards and respect the principles of transparency, equality, diversity, and individual rights in companies and communities so that the resulting wine products can used as one of the creative industries from agricultural products that support tourism.

 

Sababay Winery has won several awards. Since its establishment in 2010 and released its first product in 2013. Sababay Winery was able to win the First Award at the International Wine and Spirit Competition in Singapore in 2014. This was also confirmed by Mr. Ir. Cok. Udaksana as Chief Operation Officer. He said that in 2018 he had received more than 40 international awards and in 2021 SABA Grappa, which is one of the newest products produced, was able to win a double gold medal and a bronze medal for the SABA Vodka Infusion by San Francisco World Spirits Competition.

 

This field lecture was accompanied by 3 lecturers, namely Mr. Ir. Anak Agung Putu Agung Suryawan Wiranatha, M. Sc., Ph.D, Prof. Dr. Ir. I Ketut Satriawan, M.T and Ir. Ida Bagus Wayan Gunam, M.P., Ph.D and was greeted directly by the COO (Chief Operation Officer) of Sababay Winery, Mr. Ir. Cok. Udaksana and in its implementation the presentation of the field lecture was carried out by Mrs. Dewa Ayu Kiki. In this activity, students were explained about the company's activities from the product production process, types of products (wine and liquor) and saw directly to wine processing. Students were also given an explanation on how to enjoy wine and wine testing.

 

Mr. Ir. Anak Agung Putu Agung Suryawan Wiranatha, M. Sc., as one of the lecturers in the course explained that through this field activity it is hoped that students will be able to understand the creative industry from agricultural products and provide inspiration in and explore more creative industries made from agricultural products to support tourist.
