Department of Living Aquatic Resources Management is one of the departments in Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science, Udayana University. This department was established in conjunction with the proposal for establishing the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science, where this faculty has two departments i.e. Department of Marine Science and Department of Living Aquatic Resources Management.

The idea to establish the Department of Living Aquatic Resources Management got support from many parties: Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries Denpasar, Fish Quarantine Centre for Quality Assurance Class I of Denpasar, Fisheries Research Station Tuna of Benoa, Karangasem Production Center of Excellent Shrimp and Oyster, Center for Research and Development of Marine Aquaculture of Gondol, and some Non-Governmental Organizations in Bali.

In the process of its establishment, the idea and concept of Department of Living Aquatic Resources Management is enhanced through the development of proposal in order to obtain operating licenses from the Ministry of National Education.  After preparation and through several stages of evaluation, the Directorate General of Higher Education of Ministry of Education finally published the license of  Department of Living Aquatic Resources Management (bachelor degree) in university of Udayana in Denpasar  with the Decree of the Minister of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia Number: 81 / E / O / 2013 Date 12 April 2013 in Jakarta.

The lecturing was conducted in the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science building in Bukit JImbaran Campus. In order to support the teaching and learning process, Department of Living Aquatic Resources Management, Universitas of Udayana also conducts some collaborations with some institutions  both at local and national levels, i.e : Fish Quarantine Centre for Quality Assurance Class I of Denpasar, Fisheries Research Station Tuna of Benoa, Karangasem Production Center of Excellent Shrimp and Oyster, Center for Research and Development of Marine Aquaculture of Gondol, Hall Research and Development of Ornamental Fish Farming of Depok, Balai Penelitian dan Pengembangan Budidaya Ikan Hias of Lombok.

There are 9 academic staffs in the Department of Living Aquatic Resources Management in 2015 with the status of government employee, they are Prof. Ir. I Wayan Arthana, Ph.D, Nyoman dati Pertami, SP., M.Si., Pande Gede Sasmitha, S.Si., M.Si., Ir. I Wayan Restu, M. Si, Ima Yudha Perwira S.Pi., MP., Devi Ulinuha, S.Pi., MP, Endang Wulandari Suryaningtyas S.Pi., MP, Rani Ekawaty S.Pi., M.Env Man, Alfi Hermawati WS, S.Pi., MP and 5 academic staff with the status as contracted lecturer, they are Ni Made Ernawati , S.Kel., M.Si, Suprabadevi Ayumayasari S, S.Kel., M.Si, Gde Raka Angga K, S.Pi., MP,  Made Ayu Pratiwi, S.Pi., M.Si and Ayu Putu Wiweka Krisna Dewi, S.ST.Pi., MP

Vision and Missions

Vision of Department of Living Aquatic Resources Management, i.e: become an institution which can create excellent, independent and cultured bachelor of Fisheries especially in the Living Aquatic Resources Management in local, national, and international level.

Misions of Department of Living Aquatic Resources Management, are:

  1. Carrying out the high quality education and create bachelor of fisheries who has good moral and high integrity in accordance with the demands of society.
  2. Developing the research and the dedication  in the field of Fisheries especially in Living Aquatic Resources Management aspect which is suitable in accordance with the interests of the community, state and nation.
  3. Empowering the Program Department of Living Aquatic Resources Management as a program of study that is based on the development of science and technology
