Denpasar – The Rector of Udayana University received a visit from the President Director of PT Charoen Pokphand Indonesia Tbk, Thomas Effendy, along with other company executives at the Postgraduate Building, Sudirman Campus Denpasar, on Wednesday (12/11/2025). Also in attendance were the Vice Rector for Planning, Cooperation and Information; the Dean and Vice Deans of the Faculty of Animal Science; the Head of Administration Office of the Faculty; the Coordinator for Cooperation and Public Relations; and the Head of the Business Unit of the Faculty of Animal Science, Udayana University.

The Dean of the Faculty of Animal Science, Dr. Dewi Ayu Warmadewi, expressed sincere gratitude and high appreciation for the role and contributions of Charoen Pokphand to the Faculty of Animal Science and Udayana University. The support provided so far includes grants and scholarships for students of the Faculty of Animal Science, and she hopes that Charoen Pokphand will continue to provide other forms of support in the future.

The outcomes of the grant have been remarkable, and further development is planned. The Faculty also intends to expand the teaching farm, which is expected to become an income-generating initiative or a new business unit aligned with the Rector's direction related to the university’s transition to PTN-BH (Legal Entity State University). The Dean’s Office has also begun coordinating plans to create new programs based on the grant outcomes.

The Rector of Udayana University, Prof. I Ketut Sudarsana, conveyed his deepest appreciation and gratitude to Charoen Pokphand Indonesia for its willingness to collaborate with Udayana University, particularly with the Faculty of Animal Science in developing the closed house system, and expressed hope that the strong cooperation established so far can continue to be strengthened.

The Rector believes that Charoen Pokphand also collaborates with other universities and hopes that best practices from other partnerships can be shared with Udayana University for further development, including expanding the capacity of the closed house facilities.

The Rector also requested input from the leadership of Charoen Pokphand regarding the specific competencies needed by companies like theirs, as these insights are crucial for ensuring that the Faculty of Animal Science, through the Dean, can provide additional or specialized competencies—for example, in the poultry or broiler sector—to its graduates. He also hopes that valuable opportunities such as scholarships and student participation in international programs can continue to be enhanced and sustained, and encouraged the company to communicate any concerns arising during the collaboration so that Udayana University, particularly the Faculty of Animal Science, can make improvements.

President Director of PT Charoen Pokphand Indonesia Tbk, Thomas Effendy, expressed his gratitude to Udayana University for welcoming the delegation. He also introduced each member of the delegation and presented several scholarship and education-support programs owned by Charoen Pokphand that focus on advancing education. Moving forward, he hopes that Udayana University and PT Charoen Pokphand will continue to collaborate in selecting and implementing programs that can be jointly developed and expanded.
