BAN-PT Assessors Conduct Field Assessment Visit to the Undergraduate Psychology Study Program, Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University
Denpasar – The Undergraduate Psychology Study Program, Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University (FK Unud), received a visit from the Assessment Team of the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (BAN-PT) as part of the program’s accreditation field assessment. The opening ceremony of the assessment took place on Tuesday (November 11, 2025) at the dr. A.A. Made Djelantik Meeting Room, FK Unud, Sudirman Campus, Denpasar.
The event was attended by the Vice Rector for Planning, Cooperation, and Information representing the Rector of Udayana University, representatives from the Institute for Learning Development and Quality Assurance (LP3M), the Library and Information Technology Units (UPT Perpustakaan and USDI), the Chair of the Faculty Senate, the Dean and Vice Deans of the Faculty of Medicine, the Study Program Coordinator, stakeholders, lecturers, students, and alumni. The BAN-PT assessors present were Prof. Dr. Hj. Ulfiah, M.Si., CPCE and Prof. Dr. Suryanto, M.Si.
In his remarks, the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Prof. Dr. dr. I Gede Eka Wiratnaya, Sp.OT., Subsp.Onk.Ort.R (K), emphasized that quality is an essential aspect and that managing quality effectively at the study program level is crucial. The faculty has a Quality Assurance Unit known as UP3M, which coordinates with the university-level LP3M, while at the study program level, quality management is handled by TPPM. These units continuously develop quality documents and regularly implement the Internal Quality Assurance System (SPMI) through Internal Quality Audits (AMI).
He added that the Psychology Study Program plans to develop a Professional Psychology Program and that there is a strong initiative to establish a Faculty of Psychology in the future. Achieving the “Excellent” (Unggul) accreditation status is expected to be a key milestone toward this goal.
“We are very open to suggestions and improvements for the development of our study program,” said the Dean.
He also expressed hope that the assessors would provide comprehensive input for both the study program and the faculty to support continuous improvement.
Meanwhile, the Vice Rector, Prof. Dr.Eng. Ir. Made Sucipta, ST., MT., IPM, in his address, expressed his hope that the Psychology Study Program could further develop its role in maintaining the mental health and well-being of human resources. He stated that the university strongly supports study programs with solid foundations to evolve into more independent faculties, similar to the initiative with the Dentistry Study Program.
He added that the Psychology Program is expected to play a significant role in supporting the mental health of human resources and that achieving the “Excellent” accreditation status would accelerate this transformation. The Vice Rector also encouraged the assessors to share any areas that may still need improvement, as this feedback would be highly beneficial for the program’s self-evaluation process.
Representing the assessors, Prof. Ulfiah explained that the purpose of the field assessment was to verify and clarify the information provided in the submitted accreditation documents. The team would conduct thorough cross-checks of all received data and ensure consistency with the supporting documentation.
