Udayana University Journal and Scientific Publication Unit Holds Nationally Accredited Unud Journal Training and Mentoring

Vice Rector for Academic Affairs at Udayana University (Unud) Prof. Dr. Ir. I Gede Rai Maya Temaja, MP., IPU. Opening the Nationally Accredited Unud Journal Training and Mentoring event at the Postgraduate Hall, Sudirman Campus, Denpasar. Thursday, (18/4/24). This activity was organized by the Journal and Scientific Publication Unit (JUPI) of Udayana University which presented a resource person, namely Dr. Muh Firyal Akbar, S.IP., M.Si from Muhammadiyah University Gorontalo.

Head of the Unud Journal and Scientific Publication Unit Gede Arda, STP., M.Sc., Ph.D in his report said that today's activity is the first activity in a large series of activities to develop Unud Journal towards a global reputation which is focused on journals that will be reaccredited or will be moving towards Sinta accreditation, especially national accreditation. This is the forerunner or first step for every journal on the Udayana University campus, especially towards a higher level. It is hoped that in these years and in the future, journals with national reputation will continue to increase so that they become assets owned by Unud, especially for researchers and writers both within Unud and outside Unud.

This activity was carried out for two days, namely the first day focused on understanding how Sinta accreditation works and then continuing with how the accreditation process is carried out technically. By carrying out this activity, it is hoped that we can continue to continuously improve the quality of journals within Unud so that it can become an indicator that academic activities are also increasing, and this goal can be achieved continuously.

Meanwhile, Vice Rector for Academic Affairs at Udayana University, Prof. Rai Maya Temaja expressed his thanks to Dr. Muh Firyal Akbar as the speaker was present directly at Udayana University to facilitate the research results of the Udayana University academic community to publish or provide information to the public about research developments or the development of service from service researchers at Unud and outside Unud.

"This activity is a source of pride for me because I am among journal managers who sincerely and of course continuously strive to manage their scientific journals well," said the Vice Rector.

This journal accreditation is an official recognition of the journal's quality assurance by assessing fairness, manuscript screening, appropriateness of management, and timeliness of journal publication. Meanwhile, the accreditation ranking shows the quality of a journal. At Udayana University, which has been accredited with the Sinta title, there are 96 journals, for Sinta 1 there are two journals, for Sinta 2 there are eleven journals, for Sinta 3 there are twenty-seven journals, for Sinta 4 there are thirty-eight journals, for Sinta 5 there are seventeen journals and Sinta 6 has one journal and there are also several journals which are not yet nationally accredited, so in this activity we will sit together to absorb tips on improving rankings and getting the Sinta title for national accreditation.

"We, from the leadership of Udayana University, really appreciate and support the activities carried out at JUPI by providing training and mentoring Unud journals towards national accreditation and global indexation, of course with the aim of assisting and preparing journals that have entered the reaccreditation period, and several new journals "Those who are not yet accredited need to prepare themselves to apply for SINTA accreditation," added the Vice Rector.

Apart from that, with this activity it is also hoped that journal managers will be more enthusiastic in the future so that journals that have not yet been accredited can immediately be accredited, and those whose ranking is not yet optimal can be further increased to rank 1.
