Inauguration of the Udayana University Hospital as a Covid-19 Vaccination Service Post

Thursday (4/3/2021), the operational inauguration of the Covid-19 Vaccination Service Post was held at the Udayana University Hospital. The inauguration of this service post is a synergy of cooperation between the Medical Faculty, Udayana University Hospital and the Bali Provincial Health Office.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by the Daily Chairperson of the Bali Province Covid-19 Task Force who is also the Bali Provincial Secretary, the Head of the Bali Provincial Health Office, Chair of the Unud Senate, Rector of Udayana University, Vice Rector for Planning, Cooperation and Information, Director of Udayana Hospital, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, as well as other invitations to take place in Building I of Unud Hospital.

Director of Udayana University Hospital Prof. Dewa Putu Gede Purwa Samatra said that this activity was a synergy in order to resolve the Covid-19 outbreak in Bali. The Director gave his appreciation to the Daily Chairperson of the Provincial Covid-19 Task Force through the Health Service for helping 2500 vaccines for Udayana University. Currently the team from Unud Hospital is also helping to carry out mass vaccination at ITDC Nusa Dua which will last until March 6, 2021.

Through this activity, it is hoped that Covid-19 in Bali Province in particular can be overcome and we can return to our normal activities. On this occasion the Director also reported that since it was declared a Covid Hospital, approximately 1,600 patients have been helped and the recovery rate is above 90 percent.

Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Prof. I Ketut Suyasa said that to facilitate the vaccination of Udayana University residents according to the Chancellor's direction, the Dean coordinated with the Head of the Bali Provincial Health Office to assist and facilitate the implementation of Covid-19 vaccination at Udayana University. In this coordination, 5,000 doses of vaccine were proposed for all Udayana University residents in order to prevent transmission, including reducing the increase in Covid-19. On this occasion, the FK Dean conveyed several activities that have been carried out with the provincial government of Bali, one of which is the conventional plasma blood donation and education and support to the Bali Provincial Health Office in providing services and handling the Covid-19 case.

Rector of Unud Prof. A.A Raka Sudewi expressed his appreciation for the collaboration between the Province of Bali, especially the Health Service and Udayana University, especially the Faculty of Medicine in the implementation of the Covid-19 vaccination, which is a government program that must be successful in handling this pandemic.

Appreciation is also conveyed to the Daily Chairperson of the Bali Province Covid-19 Task Force for facilitating the implementation of the Covid-19 vaccination at Udayana University. This collaboration has been carried out since the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic with the assignment of the Unud Hospital by the Governor of Bali as a Covid-19 Special Isolation Hospital with all its support in the fields of infrastructure, human resources, material and non-material. The Chancellor hopes that this synergy does not end here but will continue for the progress of Udayana University in the future because it is the oldest university in Bali Province and needs support from the Province.

Meanwhile, the Daily Chair of the Bali Province Covid-19 Task Force Dewa Made Indra hopes that the ability to implement vaccines at the Service Post will be increased to above 100. Vaccines are prioritized for the community and this Saturday will receive additional vaccines so that it remains only to prepare the vaccination capacity. The Daily Chair also expressed his appreciation for the cooperation in handling Covid-19 and hoped that the vaccination process would run well and smoothly.
