RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE LEVEL OF 25-HYDROXYVITAMIN D PLASMA AND DEGREE OF ASTHMA IN ASTHMA BRONCHIAL PATIENTS IN RSUP SANGLAH DENPASAR

Asthma remains a serious public health problem in the world with a high prevalence. Until now, the pathogenesis and growth of many factors that influence the incidence of asthma such as genetic, environmental and others. Various environmental factors have been associated with asthma include allergens, air pollution, chemicals, genetically. In addition to various environmental factors associated with the asthma, vitamin D deficiency is also a risk factor for asthma. This research is a study using cross sectional design (cross sectional Analitic) to assess the levels of plasma 25-Hydroxyvitamin D levels in patients with bronchial asthma. Samples were selected by using a sequential (consecutive sampling) of the population in the department Sanglah affordable that meet the inclusion and exclusion criteria. This study involving as many as 54 patients with asthma, which consisted of 18 men and 36 women with a mean age of 39.5 years. The samples were divided four groups of degrees of asthma, intemiten (3.7%), mild persistent (7.4%), persistent moderate (83.3%), severe persistent (5.6%). Kosmologrov-Smirnov test results obtained significance of 0.062 which means the normal distribution of data because the value of p> 0.05. Spearmann correlation test was used to assess the correlation between vitamin D on the degree of asthma, -5.57 correlation values obtained with p value of 0.000. This study obtained significant results between levels of plasma 25-Hydroxyvitamin D levels and the degree of asthma in bronchial asthma passien at Sanglah Hospital in Denpasar.
