Background: Kidney stones as the main cause of kidney obstruction result with a decrease of kidney function which lead to chronic kidney disease. It is characterized by renal fibrosis with glomerulosclerosis and/or tubular atrophy. Histopathology diagnostic test by using Haematoxylin-Eosin (HE) was used to know the examination specificity in compared with the gold standard, such as Masson Trichrome staining (MT) Methods: It was an observational study with cross-sectional design from the secondary data study of "Caspase -3, TNF-? is high as a risk factor for obstructive fibrosis in kidney stone" in 2012 to 2013 with 91 number of samples. Two staining, MT and HE, were used together in diagnosing kidney fibrosis. Statistical analysis was done for validity test according to the table 2 x 2. Result: This study indicates that the sensitivity value around 67.4%, followed by specificity about 89.6%, positive predictive value 85.3%, negative predictive value 75.4%, positive likelihood ratio 6.47, and negative likelihood ratio around 0.363, Conclusion: HE staining is showing has a high specificity value where it indicates that HE can be used as MT replacement in diagnosing kidney fibrosis which available and cost benefit.
