PREVALENCE OF POSITIVE HEPATITIS B SURFACE ANTIGEN (HBsAg) ON REPLACEMENT BLOOD DONOR IN UDD PMI PROVINSI BALI IN OKTOBER 2013-SEPTEMBER 2014

Blood donor is a process of transferring blood or any other blood-based product from one person to the circulation of another person. On a national scale, the needs of blood in Indonesia was 2% from total population, which was up to 4,8 million blood bag annually. The blood given to the patient have to undergo a series of screening test to ensure that there is no infectious disease, such as prevention of HIV-AIDS, Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, dan Syphilis. This study used cross-sectional descriptive design. Based on Riskesdas data on 2007, biomedical findings of 10.391 serum sample, the prevalence of positive HbsAg was 9,4%. the study was then conducted by data collection on replacement blood donor in UDD PMI Provinsi Bali. The data taken was laboratory data including HBsAg (+), where the patient also categorized into age and gender group. The study conducted in Oktober 2013-September 2014 with total sample was 4478, amongst the total sample we found that positive HBsAg on total data of replacement blood donor as many as 93 people (2,08%). The highest prevalence was on male group which was 1,99% and age group of 31-40 years old which was 53,76%. The cooperation from many parties will be needed to lower down the prevalence of Hepatitis B.
