Prevalence and Mortality Rate of Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) among Patients in Hospital Dr. R Soedjono Selong in the period from January 2013 to December 2013

One of the diseases that are still high prevalence in Indonesia is Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF). Each year always outbreaks in several provinces in Indonesia. The largest occurred in 1998 and 2004 with the number of 79480 people and the mortality of 800 people. West Nusa Tenggara health office recorded the highest cases occurred in 2005 with the number of cases of 1,062 people. This study aims to determine the prevalence and mortality of DHF patients who are hospitalized in the Hospital Dr. R. Soedjono Selong East Lombok NTB period from January 2013 to December 2013. This research uses descriptive survey method with retrospective data collection from the medical records of hospitals Dr.R.Soedjono Selong. The whole inpatients with a diagnosis of DHF included in the study sample. The results showed the number of DHF patients who are hospitalized in the period from January 2013 to December 2013 were as many as 187 people with 5 deaths. The prevalence of dengue is 0.9%, mortality rate 0.56% and the case fatality rate of 2.6%. Most cases occur in June is 16% and the lowest in November of 2.1%. Male patients showed greater proportion is 59.4% and females 40.6%. By age group, most cases occur in the age group of 5-14 years is 31% and the lowest in the group <1 year is 0.5%. When viewed from the district of patient, most cases occur from Masbagik district (30.5%).
