THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN LEVEL MOTHERS KNOWLEDGE WITH ATTITUDE AND BEHAVIOR IN GIVING ROUTINE IMMUNIZATION FOR INFANT IN PENATIH DANGIN PURI VILLAGE

Background: Twenty seven million children under five years and 40 million pregnant women worldwide have not received routine immunization services. The infant mortality rate (IMR) in Indonesia is about 35 per 1000 live births and the under five mortality rate is 46 per 1000 children every year. Approximately 1.7 million children death in Indonesia or 5% who die by the age of five in Indonesia due to the diseases that can be prevented by immunization. Objective: To determine the relationship between the level of the motherís knowledge with motherís attitude and behavior towards of the routine immunization in infant in Penatih Dangin Puri village, and to determine the factors which have an influence on the mother's absence of routine infant immunization. Methods: This research is a quantitative research which is used a cross sectional study approach. The study involved 79 respondents which were taken with purposive sampling technique from Penatih Dangin Puri village. The research was done in October to November 2014. Results: As much as 65.8% mother showed good behavior in routine infant immunization, 7.6% have a fairly, and 26.6% have less behavior regarding routine immunization. The results of the statistical test Spearman's rank correlation obtained ?-value = 0,00 (? ? 0.05) Conclusion: There is a significant relationship between mother's knowledge and motherís attitudes, knowledge and behavior, attitude and behavior of the routine infant immunization in Penatih Dangin Puri village. The lack of motherís active participation caused by a variety of reasons, the lack of knowledge and lack of information.
