Features Of IgM-IgG Antidengue Serological Examination Of Dengue Virus Infected Patients At Surya Husada Hospital Denpasar Bali On December 2013 Until May 2014

Dengue virus is an important arbovirus that causes infection in humans. Mortality due to dengue virus in Asia is estimated at 0,5%-3,5%. Outbreaks in Indonesia raises 39.938 cases with 498 deaths and Incidence Rate 15/100.000 population. Dengue virus infection can cause a wide spectrum of disease. Besides the clinical symptoms, the diagnosis should be supported by laboratory tests, such as the IgM-IgG serological antidengue test. The purpose of this descriptive study was to determine the features of IgM-IgG serological antidengue test in dengue virus infected patients. Cross-sectional study conducted in the laboratory of Surya Husada Hospital Denpasar Bali from December 2013 until May 2014. Of the 343 samples, the proportion in every month is : in Desember (8%), Januari (17%), Februari (15%), Maret (13%), April (21%), and Mei (26%). The proportion of samples of men are more than women, men of 179 samples (53%) and women as much as 164 samples (47%). In the study showed the proportion of the age group 0-5 by 13%, age group 6-< 10 by 17%, the age group of 10-< 15 to 12%, and most in the age group of > 15 by 58% . The number of samples with results IgM (+) IgG (+) compared to most others, amounting to 50,5 %, and the results of IgM (+) IgG (-) of 24%, the results of IgM (-) IgG (-) by 17,5%, and the results of IgM (-) IgG (+) of 8% . It shows the proportion of secondary infection more than the primary infection. age group of > 15 most commonly found in the IgM-IgG serology test results. The proportion of men is more common in primary infection , whereas more women in secondary infections .
