THE CORRELATION OF SYSTOLE BLOOD PRESSURE WITH THE WORK ENVIRONMENT TEMPERATURE PANDE GONG IN TIHINGAN, KLUNGKUNG

Working in hot environment will cause cardiovascular system changes. Pande gong in Tihingan, Klungkung whose production process requires heating proccess causes heat strain, hydration status and heat illness. This study aims to see the mean of systole blood pressure to temperature (before and after work) in hot environment. The aims of this study is also to determine relationship of systole blood pressure with working environment temperature. The design of this study was observational analytic with cross sectional approach. The total samples involved was 27 pande gong in Tihingan, Klungkung. Thins study held on December 2014. Blood pressure measurements in this study using digital sphygmomanometer and temperature measurements using mercury room termometers. From this study, there is an increase working environment temperature (9.73°C), with increase of systolic blood pressure (1.97 mmHg) when it was compare between before and after work. Based on result Spearman test that found there is significant correlation between systole before working with temperature of work environment (p <0,05) with negative correlative direction. There is significant correlation between systole after work with temperature of work environment (p< 0,05) with positive correlation direction. It can be concluded, this study shows systolic blood pressure after work with working environtment temperature with positive direction and a negative direction in systolic blood pressure before work with temperature of work environment pande gong in Tihingan, Klungkung. For further study we need more addition of sample and control of confounding factor for normal distribution result and the correlation more accurate. The measurement of temperature should use Quest-te mp for the result which can converted based on regulations of the Menteri Tenaga Kerja and Transmigrasi RI.
