Hemoptysis Patients Profile at Sanglah Hospital Inpatient Year 2013

Hemoptysis, or coughing up blood is blood or sputum mixed with blood and coughed up from the respiratory tract. The purpose of this study was to determine the profile of patients with hemoptysis in patients hospitalized at Sanglah Hospital in the period July 2013 until June 2014. The method that used is descriptive retrospectively using medical records of patients hospitalized with symptoms of hemoptysis in Sanglah Hospital in the period July 2013 until June 2014. The results showed that from July 2013 until June 2014 there are 78 inpatients with symptoms of hemoptysis. Most of the patients were male with the largest group is 21-30 years old. The frequency distribution by the highest educational history that is unfinished primary school, and also being a smoker as much as 49%. The main etiology of hemoptysis in Sanglah Hospital is pulmonary tuberculosis. In this study, the patient death rate is 7.7% of the total incidence of hemoptysis.
