DESCRIPTIVE OVERVIEW ABOUT PATTERN OF HYPERTENSION MANAGEMENT IN OUTPATIENT INSTALLATION OF BULELENGS GENERAL HOSPITAL IN 2013

Hypertension is still a major problem in the world. Achieving the blood pressure target, controlling the risk factor and treating the comorbid disease should be done to decrease the morbidity and mortality from hypertension. Therefore, this study was conducted to determine the pattern of hypertension management in Outpatient Installation of Buleleng’s General Hospital in 2013. This study was a descriptive observational with cross-sectional design. The subjects were all patients with hypertension who have medical records from October to December 2013 in Outpatient Installation of Buleleng’s General Hospital, which were selected using a consequtive sampling method. The result showed that from 45 samples, 77,8% subjects received combination therapy and 22,2% subjects received monotherapy. Based on the severity of hypertension, either stage 1 and stage 2 hypertension mostly receive combination therapy. There were 11,1% subjects with comorbid disease and they received combination therapy. It is concluded that the pattern of hypertension management in Outpatient Installation of Buleleng’s General Hospital in 2013 mostly in combination therapy.
