Attention Deficit and Hyperactivity Disorder Influences to Student's Academic Achievement in Tunas Daud Elementary School

Students with Attention Deficit and Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) exhibit behavioral disorder, such as inattentive, hyperactivity, or compulsivity. This behavior may disturb the learning activity and the learning outcome. The aim of this study was to screen students with ADHD and to observe the studentís academic achievement which had ADHD. This research was a descriptive observational with cross-sectional approach. The subjects were all elementary student in Tunas Daud School which were selected using consecutive sampling method. The number of samples in this study was 61 samples. 11 students (18%) were screened as ADHD and 50 students (82%) were negative. Low, middle, and high degree of academic achievement in students with ADHD was found 0%, 63.3%, and 36.6%, consecutively.
