PROPORTION OF PHYSICAL AND SEXUAL ABUSE IN CHILDREN AT RSUP SANGLAH PERIOD 2011-2013

In January - June 2013 Indonesia National Commission for Child Protection reported that sexual abuse is the highest cases. From 1032 cases of child abuse, there were 294 cases (28 %) physical abuse, 203 cases (20 %) of psychological abuse, while there were 535 cases of sexual abuse (52 %). The research in the UK in 2011 by the NSPCC by interviewing 2.275 children aged 11-17 years old has reported one in five children (18.6 %) had experienced physical abuse, one of 20 children (4.8 %) experienced sexual contact and more than one in three children (34 %) who experienced contact sexual abuse by adults who not tell anyone else. The purpose of this study was to determine the proportion of physical and sexual abuse in children in the forensic division of Sanglah Hospital period 2011-2013. The method has been used is descriptive with cross – sectional. In 2013, from 334 cases there are 45 cases (13.47 %) child abuse. From 45 cases, there’s only 34 cases (10.2 %) include in inclusion criteria which 22 cases (6.6 %) of sexual abuse and 12 cases (3.6 %) of physical abuse. In 2012 there are 353 cases, which 59 cases of a child abuse. There were 43 cases (12.2 %) include in inclusion criteria with a proportion, 14 cases (4 %) physical abuse and 29 cases (8.2 %) of sexual abuse. In 2011 there were 464 cases, 38 cases (8.2 %) are child abuse, 30 cases (6.5 %) include in inclusion criteria, with 20 cases (4.3 %) of physical abuse and 10 cases (2,2 %) of sexual abuse.
