INCIDENCE, CHARACTERISTIC, and MANAGEMENT of OUT-PATIENT with CONJUNCTIVITIS in INDERA HOSPITAL DENPASAR PERIOD JANUARY-APRIL 2014

Conjunctivitis is a common disease in the community. Until now there has been no study to find out the incidence, characteristic, and management of conjunctivitis in Denpasar. This study was conducted to find out the incidence, characteristic, and management of out-patient with conjunctivitis in Indera Hospital Denpasar period January to April 2014. This study was descriptive, which the data was retrospective and taken through cross-sectional on Juny 2014. Through this study, it is known that the incidence of conjunctivitis on January to April 2014 was 160 cases with 135 bacterial or viral suspected conjunctivitis. The most common patientís characteristic were male (53,125%), age group 31 to 40 years old (18,75%), predilecting location in both eyes (59,375%) with clinical sign red eye (100%). The management of conjunctivitis mostly used eye drop with antibiotic and lubricant.
