Solar thermal energy is a renewable energy, but its use in society today is not optimal. Therefore, it is necessary to do a study to optimize solar thermal energy so that energy is channeled greater heat and drying process becomes shorter. Devices that can be used to harness the sun's heat energy called a solar collector. Armed with previous studies, the authors make modifications flat plate solar collector that aims to change the direction of the flow of air masses. Mass air flow changed from the hole fin line into stagerred The study was carried out experimentally. The results of this study are useful energy produced by solar collectors with hollow fin large to small diameter of 258.1197 W and solar collectors with fins perforated small to large diameter of 217.7755 W. Subsequently, the resulting efficiency in solar collectors with a diameter perforated fins large to small of 37.4086% and solar collectors with fins perforated small to large diameter of 31.5617%.
