Energy has a big role in facilitating human life. The development of technology and the rapid increase of human resources make the use of energy more optimal. However, not all energy on earth has been utilized properly, one of them is not optimal use of solar thermal energy / solar energy. A device that can be used to utilize solar energy is called a solar collector. The solar collector is a tool used to convert solar radiation energy into a form of thermal energy, by varying the mass flow rate on a modified solar collector using a staggered fin fin fin that is expected to improve the performance of the solar collector. To determine the best performance of a modified flat plate solar collector with the addition of different diameter perforated fins arranged by varying the mass flow rate, the experimental method with the overflowing jet stream, where air enters into the collector through the hole pits on the fins and the filling hits that have temperature different. In the collector, the meter is installed at certain points. From the results of tests that have been done it can be concluded that the mass flow rate of 0.016 kg / s solar collector with small to small diameter fins produces useful energy and higher daily efficiency than flat plate solar collectors with small fins.
