The working principle of concentrated solar collectors is to transfer solar radiation to a working fluid, where the solar radiation falling on the cover will be directly reflected in part mirror, then partially be absorbed, and partly will be forwarded to the absorber plate. Radiation to the absorber plate will be absorbed by the heat absorber plate. The heat absorbed by the absorber plate will be absorbed by the black sea sand as a heat storage medium which is then used to heat the working fluid is water flowing. For the process of transfer of heat from solar radiation to the working fluid occurs through three mechanisms of heat transfer, namely, conduction, convection, and radiation. By conduction, occurs in stagnant water and the absorber plate. In convection, occurs between the surface of the absorber plate with a working fluid flows. Then the radiant heat exchange occurs between the absorber plate absorber plate top with the bottom. The method used in this research is to use sea sand black as a heat storage medium. Later in the sand there Absorber spiral pipe to drain the working fluid is water. In tests conducted, the independent variables tested is how the influence of variations in the placement of absorber pipe spiral on the top, bottom, right, and left. From the test results of this concentrated solar collectors can be concluded that the variation absorber pipe at the top to get the temperature of the water out, useful energy, and efficiency is best compared with the variation of the placement of absorber pipe at the position down, right, and left.
