A Review on Motor Vehicle Parking Characteristic of Hospital Visitors (Case Study: General Hospital of Sanglah Denpasar)

General Hospital of Sanglah Denpasar is located in Denpasar City and owned by the central government under the coordination of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia. General Hospital of Sanglah Denpasar is a referral hospital in Bali and Nusa Tenggara Provinces. In line with the status General Hospital of Sanglah Denpasar as a referral hospital, this resulted in an increase in vehicle inflows and outflows at General Hospital of Sanglah Denpasar. Fluctuations in incoming and outgoing vehicles make the need for greater parking space. The purpose of this research is to analyze the parking characteristic in General Hospital of Sanglah Denpasar, and to analyze the required amount of parking space. From the survey conducted for 16 hours at the study site found that the averages length of parking for motorcycles are 2.71 hours / vehicle and 1.25 hours / vehicle for light vehicles. The highest accumulation for motorcycle are 746 vehicle / hour, while for light vehicles are 302 vehicle / hour. The Parking Index values for motorcycles are 2.044 and 2.027 for light vehicles. The parking lots currently available at General Hospital of Sanglah Denpasar amount to 989 parking spaces for motorcycles and 186 parking spaces for light vehicles, while the need for parking space for motorcycles reaches 2.246 parking spaces and 419 parking spaces for light vehicles. So the difference of deficiency that must be fulfilled is 1.257 parking spaces for motorcycle and 233 parking spaces for light vehicle.
