An Overview of Self-Esteem in the Teenage Girls Who Have Premarital Sex Ni Luh Putu Devita Maharani Department of Psychology, Faculty of Medicine, University of Udayana Email : firstname.lastname@example.org Abstract Premarital sexual behavior among teenagers at the current time still indicates a high rate of tendency. For teenage girls, premarital sexual behavior may have negative consequences, one of which is low self-esteem. Self-esteem is an overall view of the individual about herself. How someone gives meaning to herself and how far she is satisfied with the description of herself. This research was conducted with the aim to see the overview of self-esteem in young women who have premarital sex. This study used qualitative research with phenomenological research design. Respondents in this study were three teenage girls. The results in this study showed that two out of three respondents had a negative impact after having premarital sex and were at the stage of low self-esteem and the third respondent was at the stage of high self-esteem because of premarital sex did not affect her self-esteem.
