UNSIGNALIZED INTERSECTIONS MANAGEMENT (CASE STUDY: INTERSECTION OF DENPASAR - SINGARAJA HIGHWAY (KM-19) - WISNU STREET, MENGWI - BADUNG)

Traffic volume in Badung Regency from time to time has increased due to the increasing of the number of vehicle ownership. Traffic jam in the intersection of Denpasar - Singaraja Highway (KM-19) – Wisnu Street is one of the impacts from high traffic growth, so it has been tried to overcome the problem with Unsignalized Intersections Management. In the calculation later it may uses USIG-1 and USIG-2 forms as a guideline in analyzing the performance of intersection. From the result of analysis it obtained that the performance of unsignalized intersections were: intersection service was classified as C service level with intersection capacity of 2099.93 intersections /hour, saturation degree of 0.885, queue probability at 36.33-72.32 and the average delay of intersection at 15.070 second/intersection. To improve this condition then next it tried with the alternative namely minor road widening, in which the alternative was able to improve the performance of intersection by producing the capacity number of 2660.49 intersections /hour. The value of saturation degree was at 0.698, queue probability at 19.33%-40.48% and average delay of intersection at 11.710 second/intersection, so that service level being obtained was C service level. It can be concluded that by widening the minor road it can fulfill the ds standard that is < 0.75, so that the installation of APILL is not required.
