EFFECT OF FLAMBOYANT FLOWER EXTRACT (Delonix regia Hook Raf) ON GERMINATION AND GROWTH RED CHILLI LARGE (Capsicum annuum L.) AND TOMATO (Lycopersicum esculentum L.)

This research was aimed to study the effects of flowers flamboyant (Delonix regia Hook Raf.) extracts treatment on the germination and growth of tomato plants (Lycopersicum esculentum L.) and large red chilli (Capsicum annuum L.), and choose the crops that can survive grow from the effects of extracts. The flamboyant flowers for land use under the auspices of flame trees. The research was conducted at the Laboratory of Plant Physiology and Shade House, Department of Biology, Faculty, University of Udayana. Study started in February 2014 to May 2014. The samples were taken from the flamboyant flowers wind dried for about 4 days. The extract used is 0%, 5%, 10%, 15%, 20%. Each combination treatment was repeated five times. Parameters measured were percentage of germination, plant height, leaf number, root length and plant dry weight. The design used was a randomized block design two factors without the interaction. Data were analyzed by Anova continued test of Duncan 's Multiple Range Test test level 5%. The results showed award flamboyant flower extracts with concentrations of 0%, 5%, 10%, 15%, and 20% give effect to the percentage of germination of tomato and red chili is great. Tomato plant germination percentage decreased to 68.8%, while the large red chili decreased 49.6% compared with controls. At the height of tomato and red pepper large concentration of 5%, 10%, 15%, 20% significantly different from controls. While the number of leaves, root length and dry weight of no significant differences (P> 0.05). Suitable cultivated plants grown in the shade of the flamboyant tree is a large red pepper plants
