The basic purpose of economic dispatch operation of generating units is to set at minimum cost, yet still be able to meet the power requirements of the load. The operation of the plant is economically affected by the characteristics of plants, output plants power limit, the cost of fuel to operate. Fuzzy Logic and Genetic algorithms are used to solve scheduling problems economically. Fuzzy logic is used to search for unit commitment or generating units Which are able to distribute the load. Then the genetic algorithm is used to calculate and choose the most economical generating units to serve the load. Research activities began by conducting a preliminary study on the cost of plant operations used by the power company then makes an analysis of the development of systems based on fuzzy logic and genetic algorithms. Simulation continues to be done by trying the right algorithm to create an accurate model using Matlab software ver 7.0. The results showed that the scheduling of algorithm approach generating units with fuzzy logic and genetic algorithms provide a more economical results compared with real data systems.
