The Faculty of Economics and Business of Udayana University was established on September 1, 1967, under the name of the Faculty of Economics, Udayana University (FE Unud). The permit for education at that time was still limited to the Baccalaureate program education, which was ratified by a Decree (SK) signed by the Director General of Higher Education (Dirjen Dikti) Number 102 of 1967, dated September 2, 1967. The education of the Baccalaureate program lasted until the middle of the year. 1976, following the issuance of the Decree of the Minister of Education and Culture (Mendikbud) Number 0138/8/1976 dated June 18, 1976, which gave the authority to the Faculty of Economics of Udayana University to organize a complete undergraduate program in Economics. Since 1980, the Complete Bachelor program education is called Strata One (S1). Furthermore, taking into account the developing dynamics, towards the 46th anniversary of the name FE Unud was officially replaced with the Faculty of Economics and Business, Udayana University, which is abbreviated as FEB Unud. The name change was determined by Decree of the Chancellor of Udayana University (Unud) Number 100A/UN14/HK/2013 dated June 21, 2013 and was strengthened with the approval of the Director General of Higher Education in letter Number 8466/EI/KL/2014 dated December 31, 2014. Until now, FEB manage twelve (12) Study Programs (Prodi) in all types of higher education, namely nine (9) academic education study programs, two (2) vocational education study programs, and one (1) professional education study program.

At the beginning of its establishment, FEB Unud only had two majors in the type of academic education, namely (1) General Department and (2) Company Department. Since the enactment of the second semester credit system, the majors in the FEB Unud undergraduate program have been renamed (1) Department of Economics and Development Studies (IESP) and (2) Department of Management. On May 20, 2002 The IESP department was renamed to Economics (IE), according to the results of the meeting of the Deans of the Faculty of Economics throughout Indonesia in Manado. Since 2007, the name of the Department of Economics has been changed again to the Department of Development Economics in accordance with the Decree signed by the Director General of Higher Education Number 163/DIKTI/KEP/2007 dated November 29, 2007 concerning the Arrangement and Codification of Study Programs in Higher Education. The Accounting Department is the youngest major in the Bachelor program at FEB Unud which was established based on a decree signed by the Director General of Higher Education Number 66/DIKTI/Kep/1989 on 22 July 1989. Based on the 2017 Udayana University Statute, the name "department" is no longer listed as an organ The faculties, majoring in Development Economics, majoring in Management and majoring in Accounting, changed their names to Bachelor of Development Economics Study Program, Bachelor of Management Study Program and Bachelor of Accounting Study Program. Based on the Decree of the Minister of Education and Culture (Kepmendikbud) of the Republic of Indonesia Number 574/M/2020 concerning Changes in the name of the study program at Udayana University in Badung Regency, in 2020, the Bachelor of Development Economics Study Program changed its name to the Bachelor of Economics Study Program.

FEB Unud also has an Extension Program for undergraduate education which was operated throughout 1996 - 2018. The decision to organize the Extension S1 Program is stated in a decree signed by the Director General of Higher Education Number 360/DIKTI/Kep/1996 dated July 16, 1996. In accordance with the Decree of the Chancellor of Unud No. 107/J14/PP.01.01/1996, dated 3 September 1996, a Non-Regular Program Implementing Unit Personnel was formed at FEB Unud. The Head of the Implementing Unit is responsible to the Dean of FEB Unud, who in turn is responsible to the Rector. In 2018 there will be no more non-regular admissions in accordance with the Regulation of the Minister of Research, Technology and Higher Education (Permenristekdikti) of the Republic of Indonesia Number 90 Year 2017 concerning New Student Admissions for Undergraduate Programs at State Universities.

FEB Unud has six (6) academic education study programs in the Postgraduate Program, namely Master of Management (MM), Master of Economics (MIE), Master of Accounting (MAKSI), Doctor of Economics (DIE), Doctor of Management (DM) and Doctor of Accounting ( HE). The permit to administer the Master of Management Study Program (MM) is based on a decree signed by the Director General of Higher Education Number 372/DIKTI/KEP/1998 dated October 14, 1998. The Master of Development Economics Study Program (MEP), which in 2008 was renamed the Master of Economics Study Program (MIE), was established by a decree signed by the Director General of Higher Education Number 108/DIKTI/Kep/2001 dated 30 April 2001. The Master of Accounting Study Program (MAKSI) was established based on a decree signed by the Director General of Higher Education Number 3538/D/T/2007 dated 5 November 2007 FEB Unud opened the Doctoral Study Program in Economics (PSDIE) in 2009. The PSDIE was opened with an operating permit signed by the Director General of Higher Education Number 1249/D/T/2009 on July 31, 2009. Three years after the opening of PSDIE, the Minister of Education and Culture Decree Number 27 was issued. /E/O/2012 dated January 24, 2012 regarding the permit for the management of the Doctoral Study Program (PSDIM), which in 2020 was renamed the Doctoral Study Program management (PSDM) based on the Decree of the Minister of Education and Culture (Kepmendikbud) of the Republic of Indonesia Number 574/M/2020 concerning Changes in the name of the study program at Udayana University in Badung Regency. The youngest study program at FEB Unud is the Doctoral Study Program in Accounting (PSDIA) which was established based on a decree signed by the Director General of Higher Education Number 255/E/O/2021 on 18 June 2021.
