Udayana University Welcomes Nicolaus Copernicus University Delegation to Explore Broader Collaboration Opportunities
Udayana University received a visit from Nicolaus Copernicus University (NCU), Toruń, Poland, on November 3, 2025, at the Language Room, 2nd Floor, Rectorate Building, Jimbaran Campus. This visit marked a continuation of the existing collaboration between the Faculty of Economics and Business, Udayana University, and NCU through the Erasmus+ KA171 program, while also serving as a momentum to explore broader opportunities for cooperation in various academic and research fields.
The delegation from Nicolaus Copernicus University was led by Prof. Magdalena Barwiołek, Vice-Rector for International Relations, accompanied by Prof. Maciej Serowaniec, Dean of the Faculty of Law and Administration; Dr. Aranka Ignasiak-Szulc, Vice-Dean for International Cooperation, Faculty of Economic Sciences and Management; and Prof. Arkadiusz Jawień, Head of the Department of Vascular Surgery and Angiology, Faculty of Medicine. The delegation was also joined by Ms. Marta Żuchowska, Ms. Katarzyna Pawlonka, and Ms. Aleksandra Kowalska from the Department of International Partnerships and Educational Mobility, as well as Ms. Kinga Nemere-Czachowska from the Department of Promotion and Communication.
The visit was officially welcomed by the Rector of Udayana University, Prof. Ir. I Ketut Sudarsana, accompanied by the Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, the Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business, the Vice Dean II of the Faculty of Law, the Vice Dean III of the Faculty of Medicine, and representatives from the Information, Cooperation, and Promotion Management Unit (UPIKS) of the Faculty of Economics and Business, as well as the Office of International Affairs (KUI) of Udayana University.
During the cordial meeting, both parties discussed plans to expand their ongoing collaboration under Erasmus+ towards the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). Through the MoU, NCU expressed its intention to broaden cooperation into other academic areas such as medicine, law, economics, and business, as well as to open opportunities for interfaculty collaboration within Udayana University.
As a leading public university with a strong focus on the development of legal, economic, and business sciences, Nicolaus Copernicus University conveyed its hope that the partnership with Udayana University would not only be limited to academic activities but also include joint research, community service initiatives, and various programs such as student mobility, staff mobility, short courses, and credit transfer.
Through this visit, Udayana University and Nicolaus Copernicus University reaffirmed their shared commitment to strengthening international networks, fostering interdisciplinary knowledge exchange, and building sustainable synergy in support of enhancing the quality of higher education and contributing to the global academic community in both Indonesia and Poland.
