Rector of Udayana University and Vice Rectors Attend the Farewell and Welcome Ceremony of the Bali Chief Prosecutor
Denpasar, October 31, 2025 — The Bali High Prosecutor’s Office held a Farewell and Welcome Ceremony for the outgoing and incoming Chief Prosecutors of Bali, taking place at the backyard of the Bali High Prosecutor’s Office, Jalan Tantular No. 5, Renon, Denpasar.
The event was attended by the Governor of Bali, Vice Governor, Chairperson of the Bali Provincial House of Representatives (DPRD), Chief of the Bali High Court, Commander of Military Region IX/Udayana or representative, Chief of the Bali Regional Police or representative, Commander of the District Military Command (Danrem), Regional Secretary of Bali Province, Commander of the Denpasar Naval Base, Head of the Bali Provincial National Narcotics Agency (BNN), representatives from BPK and BPKP, Deputy Chief Prosecutor (Wakajati), Assistants, Mayor of Denpasar, Regents from across Bali, university rectors, LLDikti representatives, state-owned and regional-owned enterprises (BUMN and BUMD), as well as echelon II, III, and IV officials within the Bali Prosecutor’s Office.
In his remarks, Ketut Sumedana, who concluded his term as Chief Prosecutor of Bali, expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to serve for one year and eight months on the Island of the Gods.
“During my tenure, there may have been things that were less than satisfactory, whether intentional or not. For that, I sincerely apologize,” he stated.
He also extended his appreciation to the Governor of Bali and the entire Forkopimda (Regional Leadership Coordination Forum) for their support and collaboration during his service. On this occasion, he highlighted the existence of Balai Kerta Adhyaksa, which he hoped would continue to be utilized and serve as a historical milestone for the Balinese people.
“This hall now has a legal foundation through a Regional Regulation and is expected to help resolve legal conflicts at the village level,” he added.
Meanwhile, the newly appointed Chief Prosecutor of Bali, Dr. Chatarina, expressed her gratitude to all attendees in her address. She reaffirmed her commitment to carrying out her duties with a spirit of humane law enforcement.
“We cannot work alone. Collaboration between Forkopimda and the entire community is the key to ensuring fair and equitable law enforcement,” said Dr. Chatarina.
She also emphasized the importance of maintaining synergy with local government and the community. “Let us nurture Bali as a beautiful, peaceful home rich in moral and spiritual values,” she added.
In his remarks, the Governor of Bali expressed his appreciation for Mr. Ketut Sumedana’s dedication and performance during his tenure as Chief Prosecutor of Bali.
“He has given his best, demonstrating strong leadership, good performance, and deep spirituality, which have all contributed to his continued professional growth,” the Governor stated.
The Governor also warmly welcomed Dr. Chatarina as the new Chief Prosecutor of Bali and expressed hope that her leadership would bring positive energy to the enforcement of justice in Bali.
“We hope you will work seriously yet calmly, continue what has been built, and strengthen collaboration with Forkopimda to ensure all programs run effectively. Let us all give our full support so that you may serve the people of Bali with excellence,” he concluded.
The farewell and welcome ceremony took place in a warm and friendly atmosphere. The leadership transition at the Bali High Prosecutor’s Office is expected to serve as a momentum to strengthen synergy between law enforcement agencies, local government, and all elements of society in realizing a just and peaceful Bali.
