The Importance of Developing a Journal with a Global Reputation, JUPI Holds a Journal Substance and Governance Workshop

Recognizing the rapid development of journals within Udayana University (Unud) and at least maintaining SINTA accreditation status, the Journal and Scientific Publication Unit (JUPI) of Udayana University held an activity "Workshop on Governance & Journal Substance, and Preparation of Journal Accreditation through Arjuna" during 2 (two) days, Wednesday-Thursday 9-10 May 2023 in the Wiswakarma Hall, Faculty of Engineering Building, Sudirman Campus.

The workshop was opened by the Coordinator of the JUPI Unud Unit, Gusti Ayu Candra Dharmayanti, ST., MSc., PhD, who in this case represented the Vice Rector for Academic Affairs of Udayana University. This training was attended by 65 participants consisting of journal managers at Unud.

The Chairperson of the Committee, Anak Agung Diah Parami Dewi, ST., MSc., PhD, in his report said that this activity aims to improve the quality of journals within Unud towards global reputation through improving journal governance and substance. Besides that, it is also to prepare journals for national accreditation/re-accreditation through assistance to several journals that have entered the re-accreditation period & several new journals (which have not been accredited) that need to prepare themselves to apply for SINTA accreditation.

This activity presented Dr. Muh Firyal Akbar, S.IP, M.Sc from Muhammadiyah University of Gorontalo who is a Reviewer of the SINTA Accredited Journal and the discussion was guided by moderator I Gede Bagus Dera Setiawan, SP., M.Agb, Dr. Ni Ketut Arismayanti, S.ST.Par., M.Par. With this activity it is hoped that journals that have not been SINTA accredited can be SINTA accredited and for re-accredited journals can increase their SINTA rating.
