GENERAL LECTURE BECOME BEGINNING OF COOPERATION BETWEEN THE FACULTY OF ANIMAL HUSBANDRY OF UDAYANA UNIVERSITY AND THE FACULTY OF AGRICULTURE, UNIVERSITY OF NORTH SUMATERA

Tuesday, August 16, 2022, not only was the signing of the cooperation agreement but also a public lecture as the beginning of the collaboration between the Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Udayana University and the Faculty of Agriculture, University of North Sumatra. Located in AA Building, lt. 3 Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Udayana University, Jimbaran, Badung, the public lecture was attended by all leaders of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of North Sumatra and Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Udayana University as well as undergraduate, postgraduate, and postgraduate students of the Faculty of Animal Science, Udayana University as participants in the public lecture.

The topic raised in this public lecture was entitled "Integration of Livestock and Plantation as Local Excellence in North Sumatra", which was delivered by Dr. Ir. Ma'ruf Tafsin, M.Sc., Head of the Animal Husbandry Study Program, Faculty of Agriculture, University of North Sumatra. In the topic presented, Dr. Ma'ruf said that "the potential of land in North Sumatra to be used as a center for beef cattle is still quite high, but requires cooperation by all parties, especially the government, plantation land owners, communities, especially breeders, and graduates of animal husbandry degrees who want to develop the country together," said Ma'ruf. together to achieve sustainability”. During the discussion, it was also explained that "land use such as in North Sumatra, which is mostly oil palm and rubber plantations, has shown a positive response where with proper management of the integration of oil palm-cow, livestock productivity can be optimized without disturbing the existing plantation land". This public lecture event then ended with the handing over of certificates to resource persons and moderators.
