Udayana University Hospital Deploys Medical Team to Assist NTT Earthquake Victims and Support Healthcare Services Amidst Disaster

Udayana University is stepping up to assist victims of the earthquake in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT). Through Udayana University Hospital (RS Unud), a team of medical volunteers has been deployed to the region to help provide healthcare to the affected communities.

The RS Unud medical volunteer team was officially sent off by Udayana University’s Vice Rector for Planning, Cooperation, and Information, Prof. Dr. Eng. Ir. Made Sucipta, S.T., M.T., IPM., on Tuesday (August 19, 2026). The team arrived in East Nusa Tenggara on Wednesday (August 20, 2026) and is ready to carry out its humanitarian mission to assist those in need.

The deployment of this volunteer team serves as a tangible demonstration of Udayana University’s commitment; it reflects the university’s role not only in education, research, and scientific advancement but also in direct humanitarian action, particularly during emergencies and disasters.

On this occasion, Prof. Made Sucipta urged all team members to prioritize their personal safety, coordinate effectively with authorities and relevant parties on the ground, and carry out their duties with a strong sense of responsibility. The presence of the medical team is expected to contribute to Udayana University’s efforts to provide direct benefits and healthcare services to the affected communities.

The RS Unud medical volunteer team deployed to East Nusa Tenggara consists of Dr. Kadek Gede Bakta Giri, Sp.OT (Orthopedic Specialist) and Ns. Gede Adi Ramananda, S.Kep. (Nurse). In addition to medical personnel, the team is transporting medical supplies to support healthcare needs in the affected areas.

The presence of the RS Unud medical team is expected to assist in providing medical treatment, healthcare services, and support to the community and earthquake victims on the ground. The deployment of this team represents a tangible contribution by Unud Hospital in delivering healthcare services that reach the community—particularly when access to such care is critical during disaster situations.
