Denpasar – The Asian Law Students’ Association Local Chapter of Udayana University (ALSA LC Udayana University) held the ALSA Institute Visit 2026, visiting the Bali Provincial Government Office on June 25th. Forty-four students from the Faculty of Law of Udayana University attended the event as part of an effort to broaden their understanding of legal implementation and local governance directly.

During the event, participants had the opportunity to engage in discussions with two speakers from the Bali Provincial Government: Ngurah Satria Wardana, Head of the Legal Bureau of the Bali Provincial Secretariat, and Wayan Eka Putra, Head of the Administrative Section of the Organizational Bureau of the Bali Provincial Secretariat. Through presentations, the speakers explained various aspects of local government administration, from the role and function of the bureau, coordination mechanisms between regional agencies, to the implementation of good governance in supporting effective, transparent, and accountable public services.

The participants’ enthusiasm was evident in the interactive discussion and question-and-answer session. Students took advantage of the opportunity to delve deeper into the challenges faced by local governments in carrying out bureaucratic duties and functions, while also understanding how regulations are applied in the practice of governance.

The series of activities then continued with an office tour of the Legal Bureau, Organizational Bureau, and Procurement of Goods/Services and Economic Affairs Bureau (PBJEK) of the Bali Provincial Secretariat. Through this visit, participants were able to observe the work environment firsthand and understand the work processes and coordination carried out by each bureau in supporting the running of local government.

The 2026 ALSA Institute Visit demonstrates the commitment of ALSA LC Udayana University to provide programs that bridge academic learning with professional practice. This activity is expected to not only broaden students’ insights into the implementation of law in the government sector but also enhance their understanding of the dynamics of bureaucracy and public service.

Through this hands-on learning experience within the Bali Provincial Government, participants are expected to develop competencies, professionalism, and a more comprehensive perspective as prospective legal practitioners ready to contribute to the development of the legal system and governance in the future.
