Denpasar – In an effort to enhance the quality of scientific publications and strengthen research data analysis within the university, the Udayana University (Unud) Library held a demonstration on data extraction from Scopus.com, alongside an introductory session on LeapSpace by Elsevier. The event took place at the Dr. A.A. Made Djelantik Meeting Room, Faculty of Medicine, Sudirman Campus, Denpasar, on Monday, October 19, 2026.
The session was attended by university leadership, faculty deans, directors, and members of the Udayana University academic community. Participants gained an in-depth understanding of comprehensive research data extraction techniques and the use of cutting-edge artificial intelligence (AI) technology provided by Elsevier.

The Head of the Udayana University Library, Gede Arda, S.T.P., M.Sc., Ph.D., emphasized in his presentation that in-depth data analysis is essential for supporting the university’s research and academic requirements.
“We can provide in-depth data analysis; we can source raw data and deliver it to the users who need it,” Gede Arda stated while presenting to the attendees.

He further noted that this initiative serves as a strategic step by the library to facilitate access to digital literature and modern analytical tools for the Udayana University academic community—including the introduction of AI-powered features like LeapSpace, which is specifically designed to support scientific exploration. “In essence, ladies and gentlemen, this is the type of information that can be extracted from Scopus.com. Hopefully, this will serve as a useful reference for you, and please keep in mind that you can obtain such data with the assistance of our existing library services,” he added.
Through this initiative, the Udayana University Library hopes that the academic community will be better equipped to utilize global literature resources and international-standard scientific databases, ultimately contributing to the enhancement of the ‘tridharma’ (the three pillars of higher education—education, research, and community service) at Udayana University.
