Denpasar – Udayana University (Unud) held a workshop on impactful student learning—covering Village Development, Disaster Mitigation, and Entrepreneurship—on Monday (August 24, 2026) and Wednesday (August 26, 2026) at the Nusantara Room, Agrocomplex Building, Denpasar Campus. This marks the inaugural activity for these out-of-major learning programs. Over the course of two days, students received preparatory training to serve as a foundation for designing and implementing village empowerment programs.
Dr. Ni Luh Putu Ari Sulatri, S.S., M.Si., Secretary of the Udayana University “Impactful Campus” Unit, stated that among the 280 participating students, 32 were from the Faculty of Economics and Business and the Faculty of Animal Science, participating in the Entrepreneurship track. Additionally, one group from the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (MIPA) participated in the Disaster Mitigation track, while 236 students from various faculties participated in the Village Development track.
She added that students in the Village Development track would carry out community empowerment programs in villages, whereas the Disaster Mitigation activities would be conducted specifically in villages located in the Mount Agung area. Students in the Entrepreneurship track would undertake internships at MSMEs (Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises) to learn about real-world business practices.
“Over the next two days, students will receive initial orientation before carrying out various activities throughout the semester,” she added.
Vice Rector for Student Affairs Prof. Dr. Gusti Ngurah Alit Susanta Wirya, S.P., M.Agr., stated that student participation in out-of-major activities—such as Village Development, Disaster Mitigation, and Entrepreneurship—contributes to achieving Udayana University’s Key Performance Indicators (IKU). Furthermore, through these activities, students will gain new experiences, develop competencies, build networks, and enhance their soft skills. He believes that the “Impactful Campus” (*Kampus Berdampak*) initiative is not only beneficial for the university and its students but also generates a positive impact on the wider community.
“I hope this activity proceeds smoothly, provides valuable experience, creates a meaningful impact, and reinforces Udayana University’s commitment to delivering excellent education,” the Vice-Rector emphasized.
The program covers a variety of topics, including an introduction to the “Impactful Campus” initiative, entrepreneurial mindsets, the role of students in the SDGs, communication and community development, the use of digital technology, and more. Sessions are led by Udayana University lecturers and staff, who provide the necessary preparation and guidance before students carry out the program.
