Udayana University hosted a delegation from the Guangdong Academy of Agricultural Sciences of China at the Agrocomplex Building on the Denpasar Campus on Wednesday (June 10, 2026). The visit aimed to discuss agricultural collaboration between the Faculty of Agriculture of Udayana University and the Institute of Facility Agriculture, Guangdong Academy of Agricultural Sciences (GDAAS), China. This collaboration was marked by the signing of a cooperation agreement between the two institutions.
Representing the Rector, Vice Rector for Student Affairs of Udayana University, Prof. Dr. Gusti Ngurah Alit Susanta Wirya, S.P., M.Agr., stated that this meeting was an important step towards developing a strategic partnership, particularly in addressing challenges facing global agriculture, including climate change, food security, sustainable resource management, and the need for innovative agricultural technology.

The Vice Rector added that the collaboration with GDAAS China provides an opportunity for both institutions to combine technological innovation with local agricultural knowledge, creating scientifically sound and socially relevant solutions. Furthermore, this collaboration is a step towards strengthening academic diplomacy between Indonesia and China and building bridges between the two countries through education and research.
The Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, I Putu Sudiarta, S.P., M.Sc., Ph.D., expressed his appreciation for the collaboration with Chinese researchers. He hopes to establish a major collaboration in the future to create new innovations that combine the agriculture and tourism sectors. According to the Dean, both sectors have significant development potential in Bali, and he hopes this collaboration will lead to new innovations.
Delegates from the Institute of Facility Agriculture, Guangdong Academy of Agricultural Sciences, China, attended the meeting, including Mr. Zhang Changyuan, Mr. Shi Liangliang, and staff. Meanwhile, representatives from Udayana University were present, including the Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture and staff, the Director of the Tourism Confucius Institute (TCI), the Head of the Faculty of Agriculture Experimental Garden, and lecturers from the Faculty of Agriculture.
