JIMBARAN – Udayana University (Unud) held a family gathering to commemorate its 64th anniversary on the grounds of the Rectorate at the Jimbaran Campus on Monday (September 28, 2026). This year’s anniversary celebration marks a special milestone for Unud, coinciding with its institutional transformation into a State University with Legal Entity status (PTN-BH) as of early September 2026.
Carrying the theme “Upholding Tradition, Accelerating Transformation, Synergizing for the Nation,” the series of 64th-anniversary activities served as a moment to reflect on Udayana University’s journey while strengthening a sense of togetherness in navigating this institutional transformation.
Anak Agung Gede Agung Artha Kusuma, Chair of the 64th Anniversary Organizing Committee, stated in his remarks that the chosen theme holds significant meaning for Udayana University’s journey, particularly amidst the transition to PTN-BH status.
“This theme is especially meaningful because, on September 1, 2026, Udayana University officially transformed into a State University with Legal Entity status (PTN-BH). It represents a new step that brings a spirit of continued growth, innovation, and an ever-expanding contribution to society,” he said.
According to him, the transformation is not merely about a change in institutional status but also concerns the readiness of the entire Udayana University community to move forward together in making Unud an even better institution.
Udayana University Rector Prof. Ir. I Ketut Sudarsana, S.T., Ph.D., echoed these sentiments. In his address, the Rector expressed his gratitude for this historic achievement as Udayana University enters a new chapter as a PTN-BH. “At this 64th anniversary, the greatest gift I perceive is the authorization for Udayana University to transform from a Public University with Financial Management Flexibility (PTN-BLU) into a State University with Legal Entity Status (PTN-BH). This marks the beginning of our transformation. Let us work together, unite our ranks, and build synergy to create a better future for Udayana University,” stated the Rector.
The 64th Anniversary family gathering featured various activities designed to foster togetherness and strengthen bonds among the academic community. The program included a fun walk, free health screenings, various competitions, entertainment, an appreciation stage, a social gathering, and a CSR presentation from BPD Bali.
Participants included Udayana University’s leadership, the Academic Senate, vice-rectors, professors, deans, lecturers, administrative staff, students, alumni, and strategic partners. The event was officially opened by the Rector of Udayana University, followed by the flag-off of the fun walk participants in front of the University’s Rectorate lobby.
Great enthusiasm was evident among the thousands of academic community members attending this gathering. Through this 64th-anniversary celebration, Udayana University reaffirms its commitment to upholding the traditions and values that have shaped the institution’s journey, while simultaneously accelerating its transformation and strengthening synergy across the entire academic community as it enters a new era as a PTN-BH.
