In his remarks, the Rector of Udayana University emphasized that the inauguration was not merely about filling structural positions, but was part of an effort to strengthen the shared commitment to guiding Udayana University’s (Unud) transformation into a State University with Legal Entity status (PTN-BH).

“The shift to PTN-BH status provides greater autonomy to improve governance, enhance academic quality, strengthen research and innovation, and build global collaborations. However, autonomy is not the ultimate goal; rather, it is a tool to deliver better services and make tangible contributions to society,” the Rector asserted.

Furthermore, the Rector outlined four key directives for the newly inaugurated officials. First, leadership must be performance- and result-oriented, translating the university’s vision into concrete work programs that benefit students, faculty, administrative staff, and the community.

Second, collaboration must be strengthened by eliminating sectoral egos and building synergy among work units as a unified university ecosystem. Third, integrity and accountability must be upheld through transparency, consistency, and leading by example in carrying out one’s mandate. Fourth, officials must foster innovation and the courage to innovate by adapting to technological advancements, artificial intelligence (AI), and the dynamics of higher education in the global era.

In line with this transformation, the Rector reminded everyone that Udayana University’s development must remain grounded in local Balinese wisdom and the *Tri Hita Karana* philosophy. These values play a crucial role in maintaining a balance between institutional growth, interpersonal relationships, and environmental sustainability.

“Institutional transformation must remain deeply rooted. Progress and international competitiveness must align with the values that define Udayana University’s identity,” the Rector stated.

On this occasion, the Rector also expressed his appreciation and gratitude to the outgoing officials for their service, dedication, and contributions to the advancement of Udayana University. The inauguration of 213 officials within this new organizational structure is part of Udayana University’s efforts to strengthen governance and institutional capacity to fulfill its mandate as a State University with Legal Entity status (PTN-BH), while simultaneously fostering an institution that is excellent, autonomous, culturally grounded, and increasingly impactful for society.
