Jimbaran – The Faculty of Agricultural Technology (FTP) at Udayana University commemorated its 42nd Anniversary and the 32nd anniversary of its Family Body (BK). The event served as a moment to strengthen togetherness while reaffirming the faculty’s transformation into an institution that is excellent, autonomous, culturally grounded, and globally competitive (Wednesday, October 7, 2026).

Representing the Rector of Udayana University, the Vice Rector for Academic Affairs and Student Affairs, Prof. Ir. I Nengah Sujaya, M.Agr.Sc., Ph.D., stated that the anniversary and BK commemoration should serve as a moment for reflection and a reaffirmation of commitment as Udayana University undergoes its transformation into a State University with Legal Entity status (PTN-BH).
“PTN-BH status is not the ultimate goal, but rather an instrument to build a Udayana University that is more adaptive, productive, accountable, and competitive. Therefore, we need to shift from an activity-based orientation to one focused on performance and impact.”

FTP is encouraged to continue strengthening its academic performance, research and innovation, national and international collaborations, institutional autonomy, and academic culture. Key strategic areas for development include sustainable food systems, agro-industry based on local resources, post-harvest technology, the bioeconomy, the circular economy, and smart agriculture.
“Let us build an FTP that excels in achievement and innovation, is more autonomous in terms of resources and networks, and grows stronger in culture, integrity, and harmony.”

The Organizing Committee Chair, Ida Ayu Mahatma Tuningrat, S.TP., M.Si., noted that this year’s series of commemorative events carries the theme “Nawa Parivartana,” reflecting a spirit of change and transformation. “Nawa Parivartana embodies the spirit of change and transformation toward excellence and self-reliance. Through this series of events, we hope to strengthen the sense of togetherness, care, and family ties among the entire academic community and FTP alumni.”
A wide range of activities marked the celebration, including a flag-raising ceremony, health and environmental initiatives, public lectures, social outreach, an expo, health screenings, competitions, and alumni gatherings and social nights.
Meanwhile, the Dean of FTP Unud, Dr. I Wayan Rai Widarta, S.TP., M.Si., emphasized that FTP’s 42-year journey is the result of the dedication and hard work of the entire faculty family. He noted that the achievements attained thus far should serve as a foundation for continued innovation and for making an even greater impact.

“We must not work merely to complete tasks; we must generate impact. We must have the courage to innovate—rather than simply maintaining the status quo—and become agents of change.”
The Dean also highlighted several of FTP’s achievements, notably the Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering Study Program, which has secured the highest national accreditation rating and international accreditation from IABEE. Other study programs are also being guided toward achieving the Unggul accreditation status. Regarding internationalization, FTP has strengthened its partnership with Sookmyung Women’s University, involving 30 students and offering credit recognition (10–20 credits) alongside international certification.

Driven by the spirit of “Nawa Parivartana,” the 42nd Anniversary and 32nd Faculty Day celebration is expected to serve as a pivotal moment for the entire FTP Unud family to advance toward becoming a faculty characterized by excellence, self-reliance, and cultural values, while making tangible contributions to Udayana University, Bali, and Indonesia.
