IMPACT CAMPUS: PETAK VILLAGE DEVELOPMENT 2026, Faculty of Law, Udayana University, STRENGTHENS PUBLIC LEGAL AWARENESS THROUGH INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY AND FAMILY LAW SOCIALIZATION

The Petak Village Development Program 2026, Faculty of Law, Udayana University, conducted a series of legal outreach activities covering the Intellectual Property Protection of Benawah Pandil Carvings and Family Law on June 20–21 at the Balai Banjar Madangan Kelod, Petak Village, Gianyar District, Gianyar Regency.

This activity aims to increase public awareness and understanding of law, both in efforts to protect local cultural potential and in building harmonious and legally protected family lives.

On Saturday (June 20, 2026), the Petak Village Development Program 2026 held a Socialization and Focus Group Discussion (FGD) on Intellectual Property Law, focusing on efforts to protect Benawah Pandil Carvings as one of Petak Village’s unique artistic potentials. This activity featured two speakers: Dewa Ayu Dian Sawitri, S.H., M.H., a lecturer at the Faculty of Law at Udayana University, and Putu Edi Wahyudi, A.Md., S.Kom., M.H., from the Bali Regional Office of the Ministry of Law. The event then continued with a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) involving the community, village officials, and various relevant stakeholders. The interactive discussion explored the history, characteristics, and cultural values ​​inherent in the art of Pandil Benawah Carving, a form of traditional knowledge developed in Petak Village.

The input and information obtained through this forum were compiled to identify the village’s potential Intellectual Property.

Furthermore, on Sunday (June 21, 2026), the Petak Village Development Agency (Bina Desa Petak) 2026 held a Family Law Socialization event with the theme “Building a Strong and Protected Foundation for Marriage.”

This activity featured Dewa Putu Wahyu Jati Pradnyana, S.H., M.H., a lecturer at the Faculty of Law at Udayana University, as a resource person. Through this outreach activity, the community was provided with various understandings covering various aspects of family law, from the concept of marriage according to national law and Balinese customary law, the kinship system, the status of husband and wife, the legal consequences of divorce, and also raised the issue of Domestic Violence (KDRT), a persistent problem in community life.

Through this series of activities, Bina Desa Petak 2026 hopes that the community will increasingly understand the importance of legal protection, both for the village’s local cultural potential and for family life.

In addition to increasing public legal awareness, this activity is also expected to encourage the preservation of local culture and create harmonious, strong, and protected families as the foundation of Petak Village community development.
