Denpasar – Bali Governor Wayan Koster officially launched the Kerthi Bali Sejahtera Village Community Service Program at the Ardha Candra Open Stage, Bali Provincial Cultural Park, Denpasar, Wednesday (15/7/2026). This program is a strategic step for the Bali Provincial Government in strengthening collaboration with universities to accelerate village-based development as the implementation of the Nangun Sat Kerthi Loka Bali Vision through the Planned Universal Development Pattern in the New Era of Bali.
The launch of the program was attended by the Director of Research and Community Service, Directorate General of Research and Development, Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology, Prof. apt. I Ketut Adnyana, M.Sc., Ph.D., Chancellor of Udayana University Prof. Ir. I Ketut Sudarsana, S.T., Ph.D., and Chair of the Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM) Udayana University Prof. Dr. drh. I Nyoman Suartha, M.Si and other invitees.
The 2026 Kerthi Bali Sejahtera Village Community Service Program was attended by more than 12 thousand students from 38 state and private universities in Bali. Udayana University is one of the participants by sending 3,819 students to take part in Real Work Lecture (KKN) activities which will be deployed to various villages in Bali.
This program is part of an effort to support the implementation of the Bali Provincial Government’s priority programs in accordance with the Nangun Sat Kerthi Loka Bali Vision through synergy between the Bali Provincial Government and universities throughout Bali which are coordinated by the Bali Province Regional Research and Innovation Agency (BRIDA).
In his speech, Bali Governor Wayan Koster emphasized that Bali’s development must start from the villages as the main foundation of people’s lives. According to him, development should not only be concentrated in urban areas or the tourism sector, but must reach all villages so that the benefits of development can be felt evenly.
“This program is a concrete step to strengthen village-based development as an implementation of the Nangun Sat Kerthi Loka Bali Vision in the New Era of Bali,” said Wayan Koster.
He also emphasized that successful regional development requires the collaboration of all stakeholders, from government, universities, the business world, communities, to the media. Through this synergy, universities are expected to not only produce graduates who are academically superior, but also able to provide innovation and solutions to various problems faced by village communities.
To the thousands of students participating in KKN, the Governor advised them to make community service activities a real experience in implementing knowledge, not just fulfilling academic obligations. Students are asked to actively interact with the community, understand the residents’ needs, and contribute to solving various challenges faced by the village.
Apart from that, the Governor of Bali invited students to develop a spirit of leadership, uphold integrity, increase social awareness, and strengthen the spirit of mutual cooperation while carrying out community service. In this way, it is hoped that the presence of students will provide sustainable benefits for village development and the progress of Bali as a whole.
